A leaker has revealed that a lighter version of the Apple Vision Pro is expected to debut between late 2025 and early 2026, as Apple aims to enhance the headset’s market appeal.
Apple is reportedly developing several future iterations of the Vision Pro, with the next release anticipated to be an updated, more consumer-friendly model rather than a full sequel. Current speculation points to a design that prioritizes weight reduction and user accessibility.
In the latest “Power On” newsletter from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman discusses two upcoming models for the Apple Vision Pro. One will be a lighter, more affordable variant of the existing model.
The other model will be wired, designed to connect to a Mac and provide optimal responsiveness, with the Mac handling all processing tasks.
Gurman notes that the lighter model is likely to arrive first, projected for late 2025 to mid-2026. He also mentions some ambiguity about whether this model will be a true replacement for the original Vision Pro or simply a budget-friendly alternative.
Titanium Switch
Speculations regarding a lighter Apple Vision headset have circulated for some time, resurfacing on April 16. It’s suggested that this new variant might be named the Apple Vision or Apple Vision Air.
To achieve a lighter design that enhances comfort for prolonged use, a leaker has indicated that Apple plans to transition from aluminum to titanium for the internal structure, while still utilizing aluminum for the exterior.
The leaker also mentioned that this lighter model could feature a color scheme reminiscent of the black used in the iPhone 5, aimed at creating a clear visual distinction between the Pro and non-Pro versions.
