Google has recently launched a new feature called “Battery Health Assistance” on the Pixel 9a smartphone to help stabilize battery aging.

Google is introducing a new feature called “Battery health assistance” on the upcoming Pixel 9a to ensure your phone’s battery lasts as long as possible. This feature will help stabilize battery performance and aging, a crucial element considering Google intends to support phones like the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9a for nearly a decade.

“Battery health assistance” will be enabled through a software update on the Pixel 9a, adjusting the battery’s maximum voltage gradually over 1000 charge cycles. While users may experience slight decreases in battery runtime as it ages, the feature will optimize charging speed based on adjusted capacity.

It’s important to note that this feature is not customizable by users and will automatically activate to preserve battery life. Google plans to introduce this feature on other Pixel devices later this year, with the option for users to enable or disable it. However, all devices following the Pixel 9a will have this feature enabled by default.

The upcoming launch of the Pixel 9a on April 10 may shed light on the connection between this feature and the “Battery Health” section in Android 16 Beta 3.
