The Pixel 9a, Google’s latest phone release, is now available for purchase. Designed with Gemini in mind and featuring an updated design, the Pixel 9a is the budget option in the Pixel 9 series, offering the Pixel experience without the “Pro” price tag.
Starting at $499 for the 128GB storage option, the Pixel 9a also offers a 256GB upgrade for $599. Powered by Tensor G4, this phone brings AI capabilities similar to those found in the more expensive Pixel 9 series, including Gemini and Gemini Live.
In terms of specifications, the Pixel 9a sports a 6.3″ display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 8GB of RAM, a 5100mAh battery with wired and wireless charging, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The phone also features a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP wide lens and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, as well as various editing tools and Google’s Night Sight with Astrophotography.
Running on Android 15, the Pixel 9a promises 7 years of security, OS, and Pixel Feature Drop updates. With spam and scam protection, access to Pixel Studio, and other software features, the Pixel 9a offers a comprehensive user experience.
The Pixel 9a comes in four colors (Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony) and is set to launch in April. Pricing starts at $499 for the base model and $599 for the 256GB option.
