Google has integrated NotebookLM Plus into its One AI Premium plan, offering subscribers more advanced features without a price increase.
While Gemini is compatible with multiple platforms, its premium features require a subscription. While the basic version is free, accessing advanced tools and deeper Google integrations costs $20 per month with Google One AI Premium. This price point may be steep for casual users, but the plan now includes a enhanced version of Google’s note-taking and research tool, making it a more attractive option.
This means that existing subscribers will now have access to NotebookLM Plus for no additional cost, enhancing an already comprehensive package. The plan still features Gemini Advanced in Gmail, Docs, and other Google applications, in addition to 2TB of cloud storage.
Additionally, Google is offering a 50% discount on the AI Premium plan for U.S. students aged 18 and above. For $10 per month (for a year), students can enjoy features such as converting course materials into interactive audio and creating custom AI-powered study tools with Gemini Advanced.
One notable feature of the premium plan is Deep Research, Google’s AI-powered research assistant. It autonomously delves into topics, develops a research plan, analyzes sources, and generates a comprehensive report with citations.
Following a pilot phase and its launch in December, NotebookLM Plus now offers a significant upgrade. Compared to the free version, Plus users have access to five times more capacity—500 notebooks, 300 sources per notebook, 500 daily chats, and 20 audio generations per day.
NotebookLM Plus also introduces major improvements. In addition to the increased audio summaries, larger notebooks, and more queries, Plus users can now customize sharing settings and monitor daily views, making it easier to gauge audience engagement.
Meanwhile, the standard NotebookLM allows users to leverage AI for research and note organization. It now offers even more interactivity, with new features like analyzing YouTube videos and creating podcast-style summaries, where AI hosts engage with users in real time.
