Gemini users are now able to remotely control their smart home devices.

In the Google Home Public Preview, users can now control their smart home devices and accessories using “natural language” through the updated Google Home extension within the Gemini mobile app. This means you can simply open the Gemini app and speak commands to control your smart home devices. Some examples provided by Google include setting the dining room for a romantic date night, turning off the bedroom TV and lights, adjusting window coverings, and starting the vacuum to clean up the kitchen. This update is being rolled out gradually to enrolled users over the next few weeks. For more information and to join the Public Preview, visit Google Support.
