During the rollout of One UI 6.1.1, Samsung’s year-old Ultra model is experiencing some unusual problems.
According to Tarun Vats at X, the camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is affected by the One UI 6.1.1 update. Users have reported blurry photos and ghost shadows, primarily when using the 16x and 19.9x zoom options.
A temporary fix for users experiencing this issue is to adjust their “Intelligent optimization” settings by lowering them to “medium” or “minimum.”

SamMobile also noted that the camera issue is specific to the 16x and 19.9x zoom options and can be resolved by switching to 20x zoom. Samsung is already working on a fix after receiving reports from users on the community forum.
A Samsung community moderator confirmed that the issues with the S23 Ultra camera have been reproduced and acknowledged. The company is preparing a fix, with a notification to follow once it is available.
One UI 6.1.1 brings a range of Galaxy AI features to eligible devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series and now the S23 series. Productivity AI features such as Note Assist, PDF Overlay Translation, and Sketch to Image have been introduced.
Chat Assist and translation tools have also been added for enhanced on-device AI assistance.
Despite the significance of One UI 6.1.1, the launch of One UI 7 (Android 15) has been delayed due to software stability issues. A member of Samsung’s beta team mentioned that stability and features are still being worked on, with no specific rollout date provided.
As of now, the timeline for the release of One UI 7 remains uncertain.
