Discoveries by AssembleDebug, in collaboration with Android Authority, uncovered signs of Google’s conversational AI, Gemini Live, for Android Auto within version v12.8.14. A key string in the code reads “gearhead_assistant_action_kitt_live_query,” hinting at a “Start conversation” feature.

Additionally, the mention of “live” suggests an integration with the latest launch of Gemini Live on Android.

Further examination of the APK teardown revealed references to “GeminiLiveAssistantAction” along with other actions for Android Auto. However, details are scarce on how this integration will be implemented within the app.

Google also seems to be planning to denote Gemini’s presence on Android Auto with a star icon, but the exact placement remains unknown.
