The Google TV Streamer has been officially announced as the next-generation streaming device from Google, serving as an upgrade from the Chromecast with Google TV. With a larger size, increased power, a new form factor, and a higher price tag, this device is targeted towards those deeply integrated into the Google ecosystem.
Priced at $99.99, the Google TV Streamer boasts significant upgrades compared to previous dongle options, including a faster processor, increased storage (32GB), and double the RAM (4GB) for improved performance. It supports 4K HDR at 60fps, features a USB-C port for power, HDMI 2.1 for TV connection, an ethernet port, and various audio and video formats like Dolby Digital and HDR.
Unlike its predecessors, the Google TV Streamer is designed to be prominently displayed on a TV stand or shelf. The device also incorporates Google AI for content curation, screensavers generated by AI, Matter connectivity for smart home devices, and a redesigned remote control with improved ergonomics and functionality.
