Google’s School Time feature has been expanded to include phones and other devices, offering improved parent controls.

Google has introduced a new “School Time” feature for Wear OS devices that allows parents to limit their child’s app usage during school hours. This feature was first previewed on the Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatch. Google plans to expand School Time to other devices over the next year, including phones, tablets, and other watches. School Time allows parents to control which apps, calls, and texts are permitted during specific times. This feature will be integrated into Family Link.

In addition to School Time, Google is also working on new family-related controls, such as supervision controls for teens on YouTube and expanding Family Link supervision to all ages. Google continues to prioritize family safety and control over device usage.

Parents can look forward to these new features from Google in the near future.
