Apple TV+ has renewed the legal drama “Presumed Innocent” starring Jake Gyllenhaal for a second season. The first season is currently airing, with the finale set for July 24. The show has been a hit, ranking in the top 10 of streaming shows on Reelgood.

It is unclear if the second season will continue the same storyline or introduce new characters. A tweet from Apple teased, “New Season. New case.”

Based on the novel by Scott Turow, “Presumed Innocent” follows prosecutor Rusty Sabich, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, as he navigates being accused of murder by a coworker. The show delves into themes of obsession, sex, politics, and the complexities of love.

In addition to Gyllenhaal, the cast includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, and Renate Reinsve. Gyllenhaal and J.J. Abrams serve as executive producers.
