Google Calendar has received some major updates when it comes to birthdays. The new features include improved birthday reminders, the ability to add custom birthday notifications, and options to automatically add birthdays from contacts. These changes aim to make it easier for users to keep track of their friends’ and family members’ special days.

Google has announced a new update for birthdays in Google Calendar this week. Previously, birthdays were not treated as special events in Calendar, but that is changing now. Users can now create and edit dedicated birthday events on Android devices.

In the past, when adding an event to Calendar, users could only choose between a Task or an Event. Now, there is a specific Birthday option with customizable features. This includes birthday reminders to help users remember important dates.

Although I didn’t realize I needed this feature, I am glad it is now available. I am hopeful that Calendar may even be able to automatically convert existing calendar events into birthday events. This update is currently being rolled out to Android users.
